First Day Of School!

This year Payton and Owen are going to a new school. We decided to enroll them in a Charter School this year called American Leadership Academy. It took a lot to come to the conclusion to make the switch, but so far we are happy with our choice. It's curriculum is great and the structure and class sizes will benefit the kids, especially Owen who needs a little more structure.

They have to wear uniforms, which I think are super cute, but Payton wasn't too excited. I bought her some cute navy blue Toms to make up for it!

They both have friends in their classes, here is Owen and Nate! Payton and her friend Kimilee are also in the same class.

Pioneer Day!

Pioneer Day is a big celebration in Cokeville and people come from all over to celebrate with their families. One of these people is Elder L. Tom Perry! His wife grew up in Cokeville. This is what Pioneer Day looks like in Cokeville.

1. In the morning they have a 5K run

2. The Parade

3. A program at the Church in which Elder Perry speaks.

4. After which, the whole town has lunch at the church.

5. Next is a flag football tournament

6. followed by the Rodeo

7. and concludes with the dance!

It is a jam packed day! After the program I took Payton to meet Elder Perry. We shook his hand, it was very cool! While we were having lunch, I decided I really wanted to have our picture taken with him. We waited until he was finished eating and then asked if we could take a picture. His wife asked us who we were, Nate told her he was Norman Freeman's son. She promptly stated, "oh yes, we know Norman!"

Elder Perry told Payton she looked very cute, we chatted for a second and that was that! The picture turned out great, except for Sister Perry got cut out of it. Unfortunately she is probably used to that.

I am so grateful we were able to have the opportunity to shake hands with an Apostle!

Pine Creek

One day we had a great big family dutch oven cook out at Pine Creek!

Gavin was such a good baby!

Fossil Digging

There is a place in Kemmerer where you can go and dig for Fossils at a real fossil site. Grandma, Nate and Bob took all the kids. They came home with all kinds of real fossils!

Minnetonka Cave and Bear Lake

We went to Bear Lake and Minnetonka cave one day too.

This turned out to be somewhat of a disaster. We had too many kids, not enough adults. The cave is freezing, wet and it is a very long tour. I wouldn't take my kids again unless they were older!

Because the Lake is so high, it wasn't as clear and beautiful as it normally is, but the kids had fun anyway!
