The 4th of July started out fun with the 5K,that Nate, my mom and I ran in, followed by the pancake breakfast. Gavin had gotten sick the night before and had a fever, so I took Payton and Owen to the Parade and Nate stayed with Gavin. After the parade, Owen and my Mom got sick, so I had to stay home with the boys and Nate took Payton to the fireworks. It was not quite the day we had planned!

Whale Watching!
We decided to do something different and take the kids whale watching! The Jolley's came down for the 4th of July and joined us in Dana Point to try and see some whales. There had been a ton of Blue Whales in the area, so we were hoping to see those, but instead we saw a lot of dolphins and a sun fish!!
The Shake Shack!
We love to stop at the shake shack! I just love the view of the ocean from hear and the shakes are pretty good too!
Sawdust Festival
We had a great time in Laguna at the Sawdust Festival. I used to come here every year when I was a teenager. We loved to stop and get a toe ring at one of the booths. This year Payton and I both got one! Payton and Owen also learned how to paint a picture of Bamboo, and used the pottery wheel to make a bowl and a vase!
San Diego Temple!
On the way home we stopped at the San Diego Temple to show the kids where we got married! We took a ton of pictures!
San Diego
While in California, we decided to take a weekend trip as a family and stay in San Diego. The first stop we made was to the Mormon Batalion Visitors Center in Old Town. This is an amazing church site! The kids loved it!
